Egg Nog French Toast

Egg Nog French Toast

I usually don't post about recipes here on the blog.  Mostly because a.) I don't cook very often and b.) when I do cook, it doesn't end well.  But thankfully my Mom is a good cook {does a talent for cooking skip a generation or something!? seriously, what the heck.}. So when we went to Des Moines this weekend {mainly to discuss the upcoming cruise!} she made the most delicious Egg Nog French Toast for brunch.  I'm seriously drooling just thinking about it.  YUM! Even if you don't like Egg Nog I think you will still like this recipe.  The Egg Nog just gives the french toast a rich, creamy texture that is oh so good.  Just try it and you will see :)

Egg Nog French Toast

What you'll need:
1 Loaf of French Bread (Cut into 1 Inch Slices)
1 Pint of Egg Nog
**Could use low-fat version but we all know it wouldn't be as good
3 Large Eggs
Pam Spray
1/4 Teaspoon Freshly Ground Nutmeg
1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon (Optional)

Powdered Sugar, Butter and Maple Syrup or Fruit Syrup for Topping

How to Make It:
Preheat Griddle to 350 degrees.  Spray Griddle with Pam.  Whisk eggs, egg nog and nutmeg together in bowl.  Pour mixture into a shallow bowl.  Dip bread slices into the shallow bowl, coating both sides of the bread.  Fry until golden brown.  Top with desired toppings and serve while warm.  ENJOY!
