We had a fun-filled weekend this past weekend. It was full of fishing {Q caught his first fish!}, sprinkler running and gorgeous sunny skies. We got to see both sides of the family and spend some quality time catching up and enjoying summer. Hope you all had a great weekend as well! Here's to another week... can't go by soon enough!
FFL - Karen Walker Sunnies
P.S. I showed all of these FFL in the tortoise color but a lot come in black too!
Goin' GHD
So I got my hairs cut! I loved having long hair. And I do miss it already. But when it gets to the point where it won't grow any longer and you can't even straighten it because it is so dried and damaged... then you know you just need to cut it off. And so I did. Oh, and I also got a new ghd straightener because even after I cut my hair, it wasn't straightening well! Probably should have checked the straightener before I blamed my long hair and chopped it off... But it doesn't matter because now I have the beloved ghd and I couldn't be more happy! No more chi... I'm going ghd! :)

How to Create Transparent Text in Photoshop Elements
I know this may seem like a strange tutorial coming from me {first one!}, especially since I am a self-taught Photoshop Elements user and long-time Picmonkey fan {proficient at neither}. BUT, I finally found out how to create transparent text {if that is what it is even called?} and could not keep this from everyone else that might be wanting the same information. I had been searching the internet for tutorials on how to do this without full Photoshop but could not find a single tutorial that would work for PSE. Granted, I could have been doing a million things wrong.... but these steps finally worked! I found this tutorial {btw her blog has taught me so much over the year} that walks through the steps to use the Type Mask Tool to create the transparent text. The original steps are written for full Photoshop but I was able to modify it for PSE. Hope you guys enjoy this and please let me know if you have any questions!
You guys... it's that easy! I hope you enjoy using the Type-Mask Tool and please feel free to list any questions you may have {and I'll try to answer them ;)}!
Neon Hat
I couldn't wait to sport this neon floral hat that I got from Forever 21. I really wanted this hat instead {and still do} but the floral one was super cheap and more summery with its bright colors. I guess I will get the leather in time for fall :) My next mission: to find the perfect panama hat... any suggestions!?
Green Smoothie
Oh. My. Green. You guys, this smoothie is actually good. Like, I could actually finish a 3-day smoothie diet with this smoothie good. And I think I might! Anyway, I felt like I needed to share since I finally found a green smoothie that is tasty. I have a few other recipes from the Body Reset Diet that I am going to experiment with and will let you know if there are any other good ones!
Green Smoothie:
**very similar to the body reset diet smoothie
3/4 Cup Fat-Free Plain Greek Yogurt (could use honey flavored too to give more sweetness)
1 Ripe Pear - Peeled, Cored, Chopped (riper the better)
1 Green Apple - Peeled, Cored, Chopped
15 Green Grapes
2 Tablespoons Chopped Avocado
2 Cups Spinach Leaves - Packed
1 Tablespoon Lime Juice (fresh is best)
Put ingredients in blender (in order listed) and blend to combine. Blend to desired consistency. Enjoy!

Blast from the Past
Jean Jacket - Gap Circa 2003 | Maxi - Old Navy | Sandals - Target
Necklace - Forever 21 | Sunglasses - Coach
Anyways, I know they have been in for awhile now but I'm still kind of having a hard time reaching for my jean jacket on a regular basis. Even with the weather being a bit cooler than normal this time of year. This jean jacket is actually a blast form the past. 10 years past to be exact. And even though jean jackets just like this one are selling in the stores right now, I still feel like it is sooo 40 seasons ago... But I'm getting used to it! And I love it paired with maxis and fun summer outfits. Better get used to seeing this sidekick more often!
